Stats
Bio
Recruited from Melbourne Grammar and local outfit Essendon Baptists-St John's, Ken Forge was a tall half-back who showed significant early potential as an APS representative. Breaking into the senior lineup as a teenager in 1961, he found himself on the fringe of a powerful squad, with the majority of his appearances coming from the bench as the 19th or 20th man. While the Bombers marched toward the 1962 premiership, Forge's time at the top level was cruelly cut short by a severe knee injury that forced his retirement at just 20 years of age. He attempted a brief comeback with Pharmacy College in the amateurs two years later, but broke down again after a single match, leaving his VFL career as a case of unfulfilled promise.
