Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Ballarat region where he boarded at Ballarat College, Ken Fyffe was a versatile footballer who made an immediate impression at Arden Street. Spotted by North officials while playing school football, he joined the club from Redan and slotted instantly into the senior side for the 1958 season. Standing 178cm, he played primarily as a half-back flanker during a breakout debut year, featuring in every game including the club's famous First Semi Final victory over Fitzroy. His consistency was rewarded with the Best First Year Player award, cementing his spot in the backline before he later transitioned into a roving role to utilise his mobility further up the ground. Despite a promising start that saw him play 37 games over four seasons, his time in the VFL concluded at the end of 1961 at just 23 years of age.
