Stats
Bio
Recruited from Swan Hill, Ken Goodland was a versatile tall who alternated between the ruck and key defence during a celebrated era for Geelong. Standing 189cm, he often faced the difficult task of serving as the understudy to the legendary Graham "Polly" Farmer, which naturally limited his exposure in the number one ruck role. Despite facing stiff competition for spots, Goodland cemented his place in club history as a member of the 1963 premiership side, coming off the bench as a reserve to help secure the flag against Hawthorn. His career was frequently hampered by injury, most notably a broken leg sustained in the opening round of the 1964 season which derailed his momentum just as he was establishing himself. While his game tally was restricted by physical setbacks and the dominance of Farmer, Goodland remains a revered figure at Kardinia Park as a premiership player.
