Bio
Recruited from Murrumbeena, Ken Jungwirth was a forward who made an immediate impression upon his arrival at Melbourne in 1966. He produced a sharp debut performance in Round 7 against Essendon, booting three goals to signal his potential, and retained his place in the senior side for a month-long block of games. Unable to cement a permanent spot with the Demons, he crossed to Carlton the following year seeking further opportunities. His timing proved difficult, however, as he joined a Blues outfit that was rapidly building toward a premiership era; consequently, he added just one solitary senior game to his tally—a Round 12 match against Fitzroy—before his VFL career came to a close.
