Bio
Born in Warrnambool and recruited from Hawthorn College, Ken MacLeod was a standout performer for the University Football Club while completing his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. A clever rover with a genuine eye for the goals, MacLeod was widely considered one of the Students' most accomplished players, possessing the skill and consistency to earn a University Blue. He remained loyal to the amateur club throughout his four-season VFL career, which concluded just prior to the outbreak of global conflict. His post-football life was defined by distinguished military service; after serving with the Royal Australian Navy during World War I, he relocated to England and later commissioned in the Royal Navy for the Second World War, where he was tragically killed in action aboard the HMS Glowworm in 1940.
