Stats
Bio
A highly decorated junior prospect, Ken Marks arrived at Footscray after a promising stint in the Fitzroy thirds where he claimed the 1970 Morrish Medal. Despite his pedigree as the VFL Under-19s league best and fairest, the diminutive 170cm rover was unable to break into the Lions' senior side, eventually finding his opportunity at the Western Oval in 1972. His VFL career was brief, comprising just three senior appearances for the Bulldogs before he departed the top flight to carve out a significant legacy in the VFA. Crossing to Preston without a clearance in 1973—a controversial move at the time—Marks flourished at the Bullants, becoming a standout midfielder who notably finished third in the 1976 J.J. Liston Trophy count.
