Stats
Bio
A local recruit from Doncaster, Ken Read was given his opportunity at VFL level with Fitzroy during the 1936 season. He proved to be a handy avenue to goal during his short stint, booting five majors in just four games to average better than a goal an outing for the Maroons. Despite this promising strike rate, he was unable to cement a long-term spot in the side and did not feature at senior level following that solitary year. Read later served in the Australian Army during the Second World War.
