Teams

Recruited from Woodville-West Torrens with pick 75 in the 1998 National Draft, Ken McGregor carved out a respectable career as a versatile key position player for the Adelaide Crows. Although he began his tenure primarily as a key defender, using his strong marking ability and endurance to quell opposition forwards, he arguably played his best football as a centre half-forward. His capacity to act as a swingman allowed him to balance the Crows' structure, particularly during the minor premiership years under Neil Craig, where he provided a reliable marking target and booted 58 goals between 2005 and 2006.

By the 2008 season, McGregor found himself on the fringes of selection as the club looked to regenerate its forward line with younger options. Struggling to reclaim a permanent spot in the senior 22 and battling the toll of persistent knee issues, he announced his retirement at the end of that year. He departed Football Park as an Adelaide Life Member, remembered as a loyal and flexible servant who played an integral structural role across a decade of service.
