Teams

Recruited from Assumption College, Kevin Barnewall was a defender who primarily operated across the half-back flank. Although his senior opportunities at Punt Road were restricted to four appearances in the latter stages of the 1945 season, he remained a key fixture in the club's lower grades, notably playing in the Tigers' 1946 reserves premiership team. After departing the VFL, Barnewall forged a formidable reputation in country football, initially crossing to Cobden in 1947 before going on to win nine best and fairest awards and seven premierships as a player and coach in Victoria's western districts.
