Bio
Recruited from VFA club Box Hill, Kevin Batch was a tall but lightly-framed defender who joined South Melbourne ahead of the 1963 season. Standing 188cm but weighing just 76kg, he was a rangy backman who relied on his reach and spoiling ability rather than physical strength in one-on-one marking contests. Batch struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup at the Lakeside Oval, often finding himself on the fringe of selection during a difficult era for the club. He managed just 16 senior appearances across four seasons, serving as a depth player in the Swans' backline during the prime years of triple Brownlow Medallist Bob Skilton before departing the VFL at the end of 1966.
