Bio
The son of legendary Richmond property steward and Life Member Charlie Callander, Kevin Callander was a true product of Tigerland who worked his way up from the fourths after being recruited from St Ignatius YCW. A lightly built wingman who spent significant time developing his craft in the reserves, he finally broke into the senior lineup in 1961, looking to establish himself on the flanks with his run and delivery. However, his time at the top level was fleeting, as a severe leg injury forced him into premature retirement the following season, cutting short the career of a player deeply entrenched in the culture of Punt Road.
