Teams

Recruited from Swan Districts after an early sporting background in soccer, Kevin Caton entered the VFL with the West Coast Eagles as a skillful, elusive utility capable of playing forward or in the midfield. His career is largely defined by a unique piece of football trivia; in 1989, he became one of the rare players in league history to represent two clubs in the same season, transferring to Fitzroy mid-year after falling out of favour in Perth. Despite showing flashes of brilliance and an ability to hit the scoreboard, Caton was unable to find long-term stability, moving again to the Brisbane Bears for the 1990 season where his top-level journey concluded. While his tenure comprised just 18 games, his nomadic run across three clubs in three years remains a notable footnote in the history of the competition's early expansion era.
