Bio
Recruited from Bruthen in East Gippsland, Kevin Dore was a tall wingman and half-back who joined South Melbourne for a brief stint in the mid-1960s. He made his senior debut against St Kilda in Round 2 of the 1965 season, but his VFL career stalled early under unusual circumstances when he made himself unavailable the following week to attend his sister’s wedding—a decision that saw him omitted from the senior side for the remainder of the year. He broke back into the lineup for a five-game block in 1966 before returning to the country, where he enjoyed a strong regional career with Bairnsdale and Sale and later coached Maffra.
