Bio
Recruited from Brunswick CYMS, Kevin Fox was a tall key position prospect who initially struggled to command a regular spot in a strong Carlton lineup, managing just sporadic appearances at Princes Park between 1937 and 1939. Seeking greater opportunity, the 185cm forward crossed to Fitzroy in 1940, but his transition was almost immediately halted by the Second World War, which saw him miss five prime seasons of football. He returned to the Gorillas in 1946 for his most productive campaign, finally utilising his height and strong marking ability to boot 24 goals in 16 games as a focal point in attack. Despite enjoying a career-best season where he proved himself a dangerous target inside 50, Fox finished his VFL tenure at the end of that year, leaving behind a record that hinted at the potential lost to the war years.
