Family

Recruited from West Preston YCW, Kevin "Racehorse" Hall established himself as a versatile and athletic key position player during one of Carlton's most successful eras. Standing at 191cm, Hall possessed a rare combination of height and speed that allowed him to play across multiple lines, though he was most often utilised as a key defender. His nickname was well-earned, as his ability to break away from contests with pace made him a damaging player in open play, while his defensive discipline saw him regularly tasked with shutting down the opposition's most dangerous forwards.

Hall's adaptability was best illustrated by his unique contribution to three premiership victories, where he played a different role in each triumph. He featured on a half-back flank in the drought-breaking 1968 flag, anchored the defence as a fullback in the famous 1970 comeback against Collingwood, and shifted into the midfield as a ruck-rover for the high-scoring 1972 victory over Richmond. He retired following the 1973 Grand Final loss, leaving the field as a three-time premiership player, and later returned to Princes Park to serve the club as a long-standing board member and director.
