Recruited from Broadford after developing his game at Kilmore, Kevin Parks was a solid half-back who made his senior debut for Essendon in the opening round of the 1958 season. He played ten games over two years at Windy Hill before returning to regional Victoria, where he forged a decorated career with Kyneton in the Bendigo Football League. Parks claimed the league best and fairest in 1960 and capped his on-field tenure by captain-coaching the Tigers to the 1966 premiership. His contribution to the Bombers extended decades beyond his playing days; he served on the committee of the Essendon Past Players and Officials Association for 34 years, including a term as president, and was awarded club life membership in 2006 for his enduring service.
