Bio
A wartime recruit whose football journey was dictated by military service, Kevin Rohleder arrived at St Kilda via VFA club Williamstown and local side Altona. He joined the Saints on a permit in 1943 while stationed in Melbourne with the Australian Army, managing five senior appearances for a side heavily impacted by player shortages during the Second World War. His brief VFL career ended abruptly when he was transferred to Queensland for active duty, where he notably competed in both Australian rules and rugby league during his posting. Rohleder was the older brother of Noel, who later played a solitary game for South Melbourne.
