Bio
Arriving in the VFL with a formidable reputation as a prolific goal-kicker for East Fremantle, Kevin Taylor was a high-flying forward who joined South Melbourne in 1981. Known for his spectacular marking ability and mercurial sense around goal, he made an immediate impact with his attacking flair, notably booting seven goals against Melbourne in just his fourth game. Despite his obvious talent, Taylor struggled to settle in Victoria and returned to the WAFL—where he would later win a Simpson Medal—before attempting a brief, three-game cameo with Fitzroy in 1984. While his VFL career was short-lived, he is remembered as a highly skilful forward who, like many interstate recruits of the era, produced his best football in his home state rather than on the eastern seaboard.
