Bio
Recruited from Mitcham in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, Kevin Woodward was a wingman who found himself on the fringe of a powerful Hawthorn lineup during the early 1960s. He broke into the senior side late in the 1962 season and used dominant form in the reserves to earn further opportunities the following year. Woodward's career is best remembered for his proximity to the ultimate stage; he was named as an emergency for the 1963 Grand Final loss to Geelong, narrowly missing selection in the premiership decider. Unable to permanently displace the club's established midfield stars, he played just two more games in 1964 before departing the VFL scene.
