Bio
Arriving at Fitzroy from Blackburn, Kingsley Ellis carried a significant football pedigree as the son of former Footscray Best and Fairest winner Ted Ellis. The medium-sized utility managed seven senior games for the Lions during the 1966 season but found his greatest on-field success just below the VFL level. After a brief return to his local club, Ellis shifted to the VFA where he claimed a club Best and Fairest with Northcote, followed by a dominant stint as playing-coach of Glenhuntly in the Federal Football League. His performance in the FFL was elite, highlighted by winning the J.W. Allnutt Trophy as the league's best and fairest in 1970, and he was later inducted into the Southern Football Netball League Hall of Fame for his sustained contributions as both a player and executive administrator.
