Bio
Recruited from Claremont, Kingsley Hunter entered the AFL as part of Fremantle's inaugural squad in 1995. He quickly showed promise as a mobile key position player, primarily operating inside the forward 50 during the Dockers' formative years where he demonstrated a reliable set of hands and an eye for goal. After four seasons in the west, Hunter was traded to the Western Bulldogs ahead of the 1999 season, a move that revitalised his career and allowed him to showcase his versatility under coach Terry Wallace.
While he made an immediate impact as a forward at the Whitten Oval, booting 33 goals in his first season there, Hunter eventually transitioned into a rebound defender role. His athleticism allowed him to match up on tall opponents while providing run from the backline, though he remained a useful swingman capable of drifting forward to break a drought. Hunter finished his career with a brief, injury-interrupted stint at Hawthorn in 2003, managing just two games in brown and gold, but retired having reached the 100-game milestone as a respected journeyman utility.
