Bio
A prolific ball-winner at state league level, Kyal Horsley earned his AFL opportunity as a mature-age recruit when the Gold Coast Suns selected him in the rookie draft ahead of the 2012 season. Having established himself as a premier midfielder in the WAFL with Subiaco, the hard-bodied on-baller was brought in to provide immediate physical support to a young Suns engine room, utilising his clearance ability and contested work to average nearly 17 disposals in his debut year. Despite earning a promotion to the senior list, his AFL career was effectively curtailed by a knee reconstruction in 2013 which limited him to a single appearance that season before he was delisted. While his time at the elite level was brief, Horsley returned to the west to cement a legacy as a modern WAFL icon, captaining Subiaco to multiple premierships and winning numerous individual accolades.
