Bio
Coming from a renowned sporting pedigree as the son of Sydney fullback Andrew and brother of Josh, Kyle Dunkley etched his name into the record books as the first player selected in the reintroduced 2019 Mid-Season Rookie Draft. Recruited to Melbourne from Footscray's VFL program, he was identified as a powerful inside midfielder and forward who could provide immediate contested ball-winning ability to the Demons' engine room. Despite flashing potential and earning a debut shortly after his arrival, Dunkley struggled to secure a permanent position in the senior lineup during the disjointed 2020 season. He was delisted after two years on the list, subsequently continuing his football journey through state league roles with Essendon, Brisbane, and the Northern Bullants, where he remained a consistent possession winner.
