Bio
A product of Port Adelaide's Next Generation Academy, Lachie Jones entered the AFL with a ready-made reputation after playing a key role in Woodville-West Torrens' senior SANFL premiership side in his draft year. Port Adelaide matched a first-round bid to secure the Yorke Peninsula local at the 2020 National Draft, where his mature physique and aggressive style immediately stood out. While he was experimented with in various roles early in his career, including stints as a defensive forward and midfielder, Jones ultimately found his niche as a lockdown defender capable of handling both small and medium-sized opponents. Known for his closing speed and willingness to attack the contest, he overcame initial consistency issues to become a reliable, hard-edged member of the Power's defensive unit.
