Bio
A product of the Alice Springs Pioneers who progressed to the SANFL with West Adelaide, Lachlan Ross was a diminutive, nippy left-footed rover selected by Essendon in the 1993 Pre-Season Draft. Arriving at Windy Hill during the height of the "Baby Bombers" era, Ross faced a significant challenge breaking into a premiership-calibre midfield. He eventually earned his debut in Round 14, 1994 against the Sydney Swans at the MCG, where he famously booted a goal with his very first kick in league football. Despite this dream start, the 170cm midfielder found regular opportunities scarce in Kevin Sheedy's star-studded lineup, managing just two senior appearances before being delisted at the end of the season.
