Bio
Selected by the Western Bulldogs with pick 6 in the 2018 Rookie Draft from the Dandenong Stingrays, Lachie Young arrived at the Whitten Oval as an athletic prospect capable of playing across half-back. After managing just eight senior appearances over two seasons at the Kennel, he sought greater opportunities elsewhere and was traded to North Melbourne following the 2020 season as part of a three-club deal involving Stefan Martin. At Arden Street, Young was utilised primarily as a rebounding defender and occasional winger, where his speed and intercepting ability were assets, though he battled to cement a permanent place in the best 22 during a difficult rebuilding period for the Kangaroos. Despite playing a career-high 20 games in 2022, he fell out of favour the following season and was delisted at the conclusion of 2023, finishing his AFL tenure with 47 games.
