Bio
Recruited from the Murray Bushrangers with pick 37 in the 2018 National Draft, Laitham Vandermeer established himself as a speed merchant for the Western Bulldogs, known for his line-breaking ability and defensive intent. Capable of playing off half-back, on a wing, or as a pressure forward, he debuted in 2020 and immediately impressed with his willingness to take the game on and harass opponents. While his tenure was frequently frustrated by soft-tissue injuries that hampered his continuity, Vandermeer's electric pace made him a valuable asset when fit, often tasked with injecting energy and frantic pressure into the lineup. Over his career at the Kennel, he settled into the mould of a high-effort role player, using his versatility to plug gaps and provide critical run-and-carry for the Bulldogs' transition game.
