Stats
Bio
A lightly built ruckman hailing from Tasmanian club City South, Lance Behan crossed Bass Strait to join Richmond in 1962. Standing 193cm but weighing only 74kg, he often found himself outmuscled in the contest at Punt Road, leading to his departure after just two seasons on the fringe of selection. Behan found immediate redemption in the Ballarat Football League, where he became a dominant force for East Ballarat, anchoring their 1964 premiership side and claiming the Henderson Medal as the league's best and fairest player. This stellar country form earned him a VFL lifeline with Fitzroy in 1965, where he played primarily as a follower and drifted forward to snag the only two goals of his league career. After a brief four-game stint with the Lions, he returned to regional football, enjoying a lengthy tenure with clubs including Waverley and Ferntree Gully.
