Bio
Recruited from Albury in the Ovens and Murray League, Lance Mann was a pacy wingman who served Essendon throughout the 1950s. After a promising debut season in 1951, his progress was stalled by a severe knee injury that forced him to miss the entire 1952 campaign. He eventually recovered to reclaim his spot in the side, utilising his speed and agility to drive the Bombers into attack. While he missed the club's premiership success early in the decade, Mann notably played as the 19th man in the 1957 Grand Final loss to Melbourne. He retired following the 1959 season, remembered as a dedicated servant who successfully returned from major injury to become a senior regular.
