Bio
Recruited from local club East Geelong, Laurie Slack established himself as a consistent wingman for the Cats in the years leading up to World War II. He is best remembered for his pivotal role in the 1937 Premiership side, where he gathered 15 kicks and 7 marks in the Grand Final to help Geelong overcome Collingwood in front of a record crowd. Despite that glory, his premiership season also included a rare blemish, as his suspension for attempted striking broke a remarkable four-year run where no Geelong player had faced the tribunal. He remained a regular fixture in the senior lineup until 1940, finishing his VFL career with 77 games in the hoops.
