Bio
Recruited from Castlemaine after a fruitless five-year stint on North Melbourne’s list, Lazar Vidovic found his true home at Moorabbin, where he became a cult figure for the Saints. A towering ruckman known for his flamboyance and physical aggression, he provided a hardened edge to the contest, often acting as the protector for his smaller midfielders. Despite his imposing presence, his career was severely curtailed by chronic knee injuries that limited him to just 80 games over nine seasons. His footballing journey concluded with one of the era's most heartbreaking stories; after forming a formidable ruck partnership with Peter Everitt that helped propel St Kilda to the 1997 minor premiership, Vidovic ruptured his ACL in the final home-and-away round against Port Adelaide. The injury cruelly robbed him of a place in the Grand Final side and forced his immediate retirement, leaving him as a beloved "what if" in St Kilda folklore.
