Bio
Deeply embedded in the fabric of the western suburbs, Lee Perussich was a dual-sport talent who achieved the rare feat of representing Footscray in both VFL football and district cricket. The nephew of club legend Jack Collins, Perussich graduated from the under-19s—where he served as captain—to make his senior debut in 1975, quickly earning the Best First Year Player award in his maiden season. Standing 175cm, he wore the number 23 guernsey and played his best football early in his career, including a personal-best 14 games in 1977. However, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the starting 22 after Billy Goggin took over the coaching reins, eventually departing the Western Oval at the end of 1979.
