Bio
Recruited from St Arnaud in the Victorian wheatbelt, Len Crone followed in the footsteps of his relative Dave Crone to Princes Park. He joined the Blues during a successful era for the club, which made breaking into the senior lineup a difficult task for the country recruit. After managing four games in his debut 1928 season, Crone found himself squeezed out of the side entirely during Carlton's run to the 1929 Grand Final. He persevered to earn a brief recall for three matches in 1930, but was ultimately unable to cement a permanent spot in the powerful squad, departing the VFL with seven senior caps.
