Bio
Born in Geelong and educated at Ivanhoe Grammar, Len Stott took a circuitous route to League football, initially turning out for Preston in the VFA before a severe illness forced him into a temporary retirement. The nephew of Geelong wingman Eddie Scott eventually recovered to join Fitzroy in 1932, establishing himself as a reliable centreman who made up for a lighter frame with excellent ball-handling skills. Stott became a regular fixture in the Maroons' midfield during the mid-1930s, tasked with linking play through the corridor and driving the side forward. Despite his consistency when selected, his time at Brunswick Street was frequently interrupted by injury and recurring health battles, which ultimately restricted him to 62 games over six seasons before his retirement in 1937.
