Bio
Debuting for Geelong as a teenager in 1928, Len Vautier was a handy utility capable of drifting forward to hit the scoreboard. Despite showing promise across his initial three seasons at Corio Oval, his football ambitions were ultimately curtailed by the economic realities of the Great Depression era. Following the 1930 season, Vautier shockingly retired at just 21 years of age to secure steady employment with the State Electricity Commission in the remote Gippsland town of Omeo. Although he managed a brief return to the league for a final stint in 1932, work commitments eventually took precedence, forcing him to hang up the boots permanently after just 21 senior games.
