Bio
Recruited from Clifton Hill YCW, Leo Clarke was a diminutive wingman and rover who worked his way up through the Richmond Thirds system. He earned his brief opportunity at the senior level late in the 1949 season, debuting against Essendon in Round 16 and managing three appearances as the Tigers looked to blood new talent. Although he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, Clarke remained a high-quality contributor at Punt Road, notably winning the Reserves Best and Fairest award in 1950. After six seasons with the club—predominantly in the lower grades—he transferred to Brighton in the VFA before embarking on a prolific journey as a captain-coach across country Victoria, leading sides including Thornton and Quambatook.
