Stats
Bio
Leo Conlon was a mature-age recruit from the South Ballarat Football Club who earned a brief trial with Footscray during the 1928 VFL season. Standing at 173cm, he was a diminutive figure likely deployed as a rover or forward pocket, joining the Tricolours (as they were then known) as the club looked to bolster its list in just its fourth year of VFL competition. Conlon had to wait until Round 16 to make his senior debut against Richmond at the age of 27, brought into the side late in the year to test his mettle at the highest level. His standout moment came the following week at Glenferrie Oval, where he booted his only career goal in a victory over Hawthorn. After three consecutive appearances to close out the season, Conlon returned to the Ballarat region, where he remained a well-known local footballing figure until his passing in 1973.
