Bio
Leo Ellerton is a smooth moving utility from South Warrnambool who established himself as a versatile prospect ahead of the 2026 AFL Draft. Coming through the GWV Rebels program in the Talent League, he showed his capability across multiple lines, spending time as a general defender, wingman and forward. His promising trajectory earned him selection in the Young Guns showcase and a spot representing Vic Country at the National Championships. During the season, he delivered standout performances for the Rebels, notably impressing against the Bendigo Pioneers and Calder Cannons with his clean hands and work around stoppages.
At 182cm, Ellerton is known for his stylish movement and a slick turn of speed that helps him wheel out of traffic. Scouts have highlighted his ability to link up in combination play on the outside and apply strong tackling pressure without the ball. However, observers have noted that his kicking efficiency can be a mixed bag, identifying his delivery by foot as an area requiring further development as he looks to take the next step.
