Bio
Born in Bacchus Marsh and educated at St Patrick's College in Ballarat, Leo Little was a gifted all-round athlete who commenced his VFL career with University. His football journey was heavily disrupted by global events; after leaving the Students to work in the public service in Canberra—where he dominated local athletics championships—he enlisted for World War I. Little served with distinction as a Lieutenant in the 37th Battalion, earning a Military Cross for gallantry at Broodseinde and featuring for the winning Third Division side in the famous 1916 Pioneer Exhibition Game in London. Upon returning to Australia, with University no longer in the league, he crossed to Melbourne for two final seasons. An athletic follower capable of pushing forward to hit the scoreboard, Little eventually swapped his boots for a wig, forging a successful post-football career as a Crown Prosecutor.
