Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Katandra Football Club in country Victoria, Les Bartlett arrived at the Western Oval following a standout season where he won a local premiership and the club best and fairest. Standing 188cm, he was a particularly tall half-back flanker for the era, using his size to intercept play and match up against various forward setups. While he possessed the physical attributes for VFL football, Bartlett spent much of his eight-season career on the fringe of senior selection, fighting hard to break into the lineup. His most productive campaign occurred in 1972 when he played 20 games and solidified a place in the defence, but he saw limited opportunities in the seasons that followed. He departed Footscray at the end of 1975, having served as a reliable squad member during a competitive era for the club.
