Bio
A sturdy full-back recruited from VFA club Port Melbourne, Les Bollman arrived at the Lake Oval to shore up South Melbourne's defence during the late 1920s. He had previously established himself as a reliable pillar for the Borough, notably manning the goal square throughout their 1927 finals campaign. Bollman joined the Bloods midway through the 1928 season and was immediately tasked with stopping opposition spearheads in a side that struggled to climb from the lower rungs of the ladder. After 17 senior appearances across two tough seasons at VFL level, he returned to the Association to continue his career with Brunswick.
