Les Borrack

Recruited from Redan in the Ballarat Football League, Les Borrack joined Geelong in 1953 on initial match permits before a job transfer with the State Bank allowed him to commit permanently the following season. While he made his name in country football as a high-flying centre half-forward with a booming drop kick, he often operated in the centre for the Cats, using his strong overhead marking ability to control play through the pivot. He became a consistent senior regular during the club's transition following the 1951-52 premiership era, serving as a reliable fixture in the side throughout the mid-to-late 1950s. Borrack retired in 1960 as a Life Member of the club, later serving the local football community for decades as a respected tribunal administrator.
