Stats
Bio
Recruited from the Fitzroy Juniors, Les Boyne was a defensive utility who struggled to cement a spot in the powerful Maroons lineup of the post-war era. He made his debut as an 18-year-old in 1918 but spent the following three seasons in the lower grades, where he featured prominently across the half-back line. Boyne earned a brief recall during the club’s 1922 premiership campaign, managing two appearances and kicking a solitary goal, but he remained stuck behind a premiership-calibre defence. He left the league with four senior games to his name, serving primarily as a depth player during one of the club's most successful periods.
