Bio
A persistent wingman who faced the difficult task of breaking into Collingwood’s lineup immediately following the "Machine" era, Les Harvey joined the club from Camberwell. He served a lengthy apprenticeship in the seconds, with his tenure at Victoria Park spanning from 1927 to 1933, yet he largely found his path to senior football blocked by the club’s star-studded midfield. The 173cm midfielder finally earned his senior debut in Round 3, 1932, contributing to a win over Essendon. He retained his place on the wing for four consecutive matches—three of which were victories—before being omitted after a Round 6 win against Footscray. Unable to reclaim his spot in the senior 22, Harvey finished his VFL career with just the four appearances, a testament to the immense depth of the Magpies' list during the period.
