Bio
Recruited from Box Hill, Les Husband arrived at Princes Park as a mature-age debutant, playing his first senior game for Carlton at 24 years of age under captain-coach Horrie Clover. A versatile tall who stood 180cm, he was primarily utilised as a ruckman capable of drifting to half-back, allowing him to support the Blues' defensive structure when required. While his VFL career was brief—spanning just 14 games across two seasons—Husband was a talented all-round sportsman who balanced his football with competitive ice hockey, skating as a right wing for the Brighton Ice Hockey Club during the same period. He departed the top level after the 1924 season, remaining a unique dual-sport figure in Carlton's history.
