Bio
Recruited from Highett after an initial stint with South Districts, Les Jarry was a tall utility who joined South Melbourne during the post-war era. Standing 183cm, he offered a physical presence and versatility to the Swans' lineup, managing to boot 10 goals across his 21 senior appearances. While his VFL career was relatively brief, spanning just the 1948 and 1949 seasons, Jarry maintained a lifelong connection to the club and later became a noted marathon runner, completing a race just weeks after his 70th birthday. He held the distinction of being South Melbourne's oldest surviving former player until his passing in late 2024.
