Bio
Recruited from Maryborough in the Ballarat Football League, Les Johnson arrived at Carlton with significant leadership experience, having already served as a playing coach in the country despite being in his early twenties. Standing 184cm, he was a tall utility for the era who could impact the contest as a follower or key position player, providing a physical presence and contributing 13 goals. He became a regular fixture in the Blues' lineup immediately upon his debut, playing consistent football across the 1927 and 1928 seasons before his brief but solid VFL career came to a close.
