Bio
A recruit from Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula, Les Jones was one of many hopefuls trialled by North Melbourne during the club's disastrous 1931 campaign. With the Shinboners amidst a winless season that would ultimately yield the wooden spoon, the match committee cast a wide net for talent, handing Jones his debut as they desperately searched for a spark. He managed just two senior appearances in the royal blue and white without troubling the scorers, struggling to cement a spot in a side that was routinely being dismantled by opposition teams. Jones's VFL career was brief, serving as a footnote in one of the bleakest on-field chapters in the club's history before he faded from the league scene.
