Bio
Recruited from St Albans in the local Geelong competition, Les May was a mid-sized utility who earned a brief opportunity with the Cats during the 1956 season. Standing 180cm, he was called up to make his debut in Round 2 against North Melbourne at Kardinia Park, donning the number 2 guernsey. May entered the VFL system at a challenging time for developing players, attempting to break into a formidable Geelong lineup that featured stars like Bob Davis and would eventually reach the Preliminary Final that year. Consequently, he found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the competitive 22, managing just four senior appearances without kicking a goal before his short tenure at the elite level concluded.
