Stats
Bio
Recruited from the New South Wales border town of Moama, Les McCann arrived at Princes Park via the Royal Australian Air Force during the height of the Second World War. Standing just 173cm, the diminutive serviceman was one of many players who filled the breach for VFL clubs while regular stars were deployed overseas, managing to break into the senior side for seven games during the 1944 season. His brief tenure at the top level was typical of the transient nature of wartime football lists, and following his solitary season in navy blue, he eventually returned to the Murray River region where he remained a local figure until his passing in Echuca.
